The Beautiful Game

Just because it’s my blog and I can do what I want…
Any video ending with the Sounders FC hoisting a shiny silver piece of hardware is a beautiful video indeed.
Let the comments slagging on soccer begin! (FWIW, I still love baseball, and remain a fan of American football, and hoops… but soccer is The Beautiful Game, boys and girls, and don’t you forget it.)

I’m with you Paul! Looks like you guys have a great atmosphere out there for games, I’m truly jealous. Our local professional situation is a mess in MN; only dream of having crowds like you guys have. Thank goodness for TV and coaching a good youth team, keeps my spirits up!

I’m with you bro! Sounders forever! I am wearing my sounders jersey with a “throwball” t-shirt underneath!
C’mon you Sounders!

I bet the Sounders’ values don’t hold a candle to FAA values!

Hey JN – what’s the problem with the soccer scene in MN? Back in ’78 I used to go to Minnesota Kicks games and they drew huge crowds. Tailgating was great too. Here in Dubai the English Premier League is showing 24/7 on the sports channels. You almost have to become a fan! Dubai is presently hosting the World Cup on sand! Plenty of that here.

todd – lots wrong up here – apparently the club owes much money to several organizations, the USL league that they have been a part of for close to twenty years is on the verge of collapse, new league starting that may include Thunder, may include a new owner/organization, USL still wants to operate a franchise here – meaning that we may end up with competing franchises in different leagues… could go on and on. The good news is that I do think it will be resolved, but I wish we had a team that had first class financing, so they did not always have to operate on such a shoestring budget.
Good news is that youth soccer is moving forward up hear, and my teams look great right now. search for MTA93 on youtube and you can see a couple of matches that my U17s played recently, only a couple of weeks into our training for this year. Former player on books with Leicester City, lots working on their college deals, and the U19s come back in the spring for a final run. Finally we are regionally competitive across the board.

Hi Doc! Yep, it’s me. This is a little blog I have for work stuff… at one point I grew it to just under 1,500 readers a day, but I’ve been slacking lately and not posting enough.
Up the Sounders! Up the ECS! Take ‘Em All!
