Hiatus
Posted by Paul Cox on August 31st, 2009
The Follies is taking a little hiatus. I’ve got to decide whether or not to keep doing the blog… but more importantly, this week I’m going to Washington DC to watch the Seattle Sounders FC beat DC United in the final for the US Open Cup (the oldest trophy in American soccer).

Please keep the blog going, it is a daily stop for me and a lot of my friends. Take some time off and cut back, but please keep it going!

I also stop here every day or two to see what's new and get your (and some of your commenters) take on things that come up in the FAA. We've had some very insightful posts/comment threads here and I'd hate to lose that!

I look forward to reading the Follies Everyday, even when there's nothing new, because t seems there's always someone who has left a new comment. I know a lot of the fodder for a lot of posts was the non-tract, and assorted other issues, but hey – this is the FAA. They're gonna screw something else up, just wait 5 minutes. I know there are Follies readers out there with somethig to say, maybe they'll actually speak up and write something to post?

I understand wanting to take a break from the posting but please reconsider dropping it. There are many people who love this site and while we might not always post it is informational to others. So consider me voting for you to keep it going.

Dont quit now Paul!
First the Sounders, then the Storm, next the 'Hawks, and maybe the M's?

With all due respect to John Carr's position, I still think there is a need to highlight the FAA's tombstone mentality. Even if you cut back to one or two posts per week, the Failed Avaiation Admin is still broken. If you keep the spotlight on them, maybe the bastards that did NATCA wrong will be forced to move on. OK, that is a good dream, but at least they will know that they cannot get away with the mindset that has permantly ruined this agency. We need someone to keep exposing the corruption, and dislike for the workforce, until we are no longer at the bottom of the list of best agencies to work for.
I do agree with John in that your marriage and your personal life are more important, but please, find some way to keep up the pressure on the FAA to do what is right. Otherwise, Gerry boy Lavey wins and you go home.
